Providing supervision to individuals, groups and trainee counsellors through an integrative model of humanistic, psychodynamic and solution focused models.
I can provide support/supervision with BACP accreditation applications and have experience of supporting trainees on counselling diploma courses with supervision requirements.
The model of supervision used is based on the 3 functions supervision model by Hawkins & Shohet (1989). The 3 main functions provide:
- A supportive and restorative aspect that provides a safe holding environment where practitioner/supervisee can explore all aspects of their feelings and therapeutic work.
- A managerial function that ensures that the work is of an acceptable level and follows ethical and professional standards.
- An educational aspect of supervision looks at providing information and helping supervisees develop self awareness, understanding, skills and techniques.
